Bissell Eye Care offers eye care services for patients as early as 6 months through adult. From comprehensive exams, eye disease diagnosis and treatment to fittings for eyeglasses and contact lenses, we are a full service eye care center providing an array of eye care and vision services. Each patient visit starts with a thorough examination to determine overall eye health and medical wellness. Often medical issues can be detected with a thorough eye examination.
This public health program is committed to encourage early eye examinations for children 6 months of age or older. Many children do not receive an eye examination until they are in their later elementary grades and only get an examination when it is perceived that something is wrong. Most problems occur much earlier and can be prevented with early detection and treatment. Dr. Bissell is a proud member of the InfantSEE® program and will do a free comprehensive examination on any child between six months and one year of age.
Low Vision Services
Macular degeneration and glaucoma affect nearly 2 million people each year, however, that number may be significantly under diagnosed. Many of these people have significant vision problems that traditional glasses will not correct. Dr. Bissell received advanced training in the fitting of special telescopic glasses, microscopic glasses, and magnifiers that help give a hands-free approach to maximize the usable vision that the individual needs. These glasses may be used for almost anyone with vision deficits, not just macular degeneration and glaucoma. Tri-State Low Vision, a division of Bissell Eye Care, provides additional information about low vision treatment options.
